I know you shoot canon, but I was wondering if you had an opinion on Nikon's d7000? And if you considered it, why did you pick the 5D Mark II instead? I know the brands are essentially neck-and-neck, but I'm looking to upgrade in the future, which company do you think would be better to stick with? I'd rather not regret my decision and decide to switch and find myself with several useless, expensive lenses. Thanks in advance!
I began starting shooting with canon so i stuck with canon when i chose to upgrade to a 5d mark ii and i already had other canon equipment. As for the d7000, my friend shoots with it and hes really satisfied with the results. If you’re already shooting with nikon, i would definitely upgrade to a d7000 or wait for the d800 to release. But if you want a dslr that is better in video recording, i’d stick with canon.
What telephoto lens do you use, and what's your opinion of Canon's standard line vs. L glass?
I used to have a 75-300mm f/4 and i’ve borrowed a 70-200mm f/2.8 before. And as for Canon’s standard line vs. L glass, I’d say get an L lens if you can afford it. They’re better built, weather sealed, and overall give sharper images. You can check youtube.com/digitalrev for comparison videos of L and non L lenses.
